IIT (Instructor-in-Training)

If you are a confident advanced skier or snowboarder and interested in becoming a Snow School Instructor, this program is for you!

The Instructor-in-Training (IIT) Program is designed to combine elements of the Volunteer Program and 9-weeks of lessons with a senior level instructor to prepare you for your Professional Ski Instructors of Canada (PSIC) Level 1 or your Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) Level 1.

The IIT team will work closely with the Snow School Instructor team throughout the season. IITs will attend mandatory pre-season training and are scheduled in accordance with their submitted availability. IITs have the opportunity for Chicopee to cover the cost of their Instructor Certification* (held at Chicopee by the PSIC and CASI, dates TBD) at the end of the program.

To qualify for Chicopee to cover the cost of the Level 1 evaluation day IITs are required to commit to a minimum of 2 weeknights and 1 weekend shift throughout the 9-week lesson program time. Shifts are a minimum of 3 hours long. IITs must have a shift attendance record of at least 89%. IITs are required to adhere to all Chicopee Policies and Procedures. In accordance with our Terms & Conditions, Chicopee reserves the right to move or remove program participants.

Your Program Lesson Tag acts as a valid lift ticket on the day of your lesson (open to close).

NOTE: All Sales are Final.

• If Chicopee cancels your weekly lesson, you will be notified, and the lesson program will be extended, and run on the same day and time. [For the 2026-2027 season there are two possible extensions: Week 10: MAR 6 to 12, 2027 and/or Week 11: MAR 13 to 19, 2027].
• If Chicopee cannot deliver your 9-week lesson program within the season (until MAR 21, 2027), you will be notified, and the cancelled lesson will be credited (prorated value) to your account. This credit may be used to purchase lift tickets, daily rentals, membership, passes, cards, camps and lessons (excludes: retail, food and beverage items).

Skill Level Advanced
You are an experienced and confident skier or snowboarder. You can navigate all terrain, demonstrate strong technique, and ride all lifts.
