The U19 program provides skiers the continuation of Alpine Canada (ACA) Learn to Race phase and the progression into Train to Race and Train to Win.  U19 competition events will become more focused on competition and the development of strong skiing skills.  Participants should be a graduate of the U16 Program.

Program participants must be a Chicopee Member for the 18 / 19 season as per Alpine Ontario (AOA) rules and regulations.  All U19 SOD Cup athletes must register with AOA online via their website at: to participate in league racing and AOA events or camps. All U19 SOD Cup athletes must purchase a Provincial FIS licence, have a medical evaluation completed and signed by a physician and complete a FIS declaration. The cost of races are not included in the price of the FIS licence. All racers must wear a hard eared helmet with a FIS label affixed in a non-removable way at the back of the helmet in a location which is and shall remain visible.  Also, please be advised that back protectors (properly fit) are strongly recommended for any speed racing and ACA will be considering adopting a mandatory rule for the 2018/19 season.

Dryland Training: Chicopee Racing Dryland Training will run for 8 Sunday’s starting on September 23rd and will run through to November 18th from 10am – 12 noon, (NOT including Thanksgiving Sunday, October 7th).  The dryland training series is an opportunity for racers to interact with other racers and coaches in the program and to help improve their fitness base prior to getting on the snow. We’ll work on developing: Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), agility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility and stamina in relation to the athletes Windows of Trainability.  All sessions are outside on the Chicopee property in all weather conditions.  Please come dressed in weather appropriate athletic attire and remember a water bottle!

Program Ability Level:

The student is an experienced and competent skier. He/she has received formal instruction, knows and understands the Alpine Responsibility Code and can demonstrate ability at an advanced level.
