U19 SOD CUP

The U19 SOD Cup program continues to develop skiers overall ski improvement with an increased focus on developing skills for competition, (Alpine Canada Learn to Race phase and the progression into Train to Race and Train to Win).  Participants should be a graduate of the U16 Program.

Program participants must be a Chicopee Member for the 2019/2020 season as per Alpine Ontario regulations.  All U19 SOD Cup athletes must register online at http://www.alpineontario.ca to participate in league racing and additional Alpine Ontario events or camps. All U19 SOD Cup athletes must purchase a Provincial FIS licence, have a medical evaluation completed and signed by a physician and complete a FIS declaration. The cost of races is not included in the price of the FIS licence. All racers must wear a hard-earned helmet with a FIS label affixed in a non-removable way at the back of the helmet in a location which is and shall remain visible. Equipment required for U19 racers includes slalom and giant slalom event specific skis, back protectors for speed races, slalom gear for clearing gates.  If you have any questions about these requirements please contact the Race Office, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Dryland Training: Chicopee Racing Dryland Training will run from September 22nd – November 17th, 10am-noon, (no training on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 13th).  The dryland training series is an opportunity for participants to interact with other racers and coaches in the program and help improve their fitness base prior to getting on the snow. We’ll work on developing: Fundamental Movement Skills, agility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility and stamina in relation to the athletes Windows of Trainability. All sessions are outside at Chicopee in all weather conditions.

Program Ability Level:

Advanced:
The student is an experienced and competent skier. He/she has received formal instruction, knows and understands the Alpine Responsibility Code and can demonstrate ability at an advanced level.
