Winter Programs 2021 / 2022: 9-Week Programs

U12 SOD Cup

Approx. Length: 6hrs / week Suggested Ratio: 7:1 Birth Year: 2010 - 2011

The U12 SOD Cup program introduces skiers to racing skills and events through the ‘FUNdamentals’ of skiing. Along with the Snow Stars program we focus on the development of overall skiing skills and the introduction of racing skills and competition, (Alpine Canada Long Term Skier Development Plan – Phases of Skier Essentials and Learn to Train). This age group participates in 4 regionalized races that are scheduled by Alpine Ontario.

Skiers entering the U12 program must be one of the following:

- Graduates of the U10 program,

- Have successfully completed Advanced Level 1 or 2 (A1 or A2) in a Chicopee Snow School program,

- Exceptional recreational skiers that can ski parallel turns on all hills at Chicopee, and are comfortable on a variety of terrain and snow conditions. They should also be comfortable skiing with some speed and can ride any lift at Chicopee with confidence, unassisted.

Program participants must be a Chicopee Member for the 2021/2022 season and are required to wear a hard-eared helmet.

U12 SOD Cup athletes are required to register online at snowreg.com to participate in league racing and additional camps and events offered by Alpine Ontario.

Dryland Training Program: : October 3 to November 28, 2021. No Dryland on October 10 (Thanksgiving). Dryland runs 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Note: This fitness program is for U10 - U19 racers only.

Advanced:
The student is an experienced and competent skier. He/she has received formal instruction, knows and understands the Alpine Responsibility Code and can demonstrate ability at an advanced level.

Note: Program runs Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 – Saturday, March 5th, 2022.
