The U10 Entry Level program gives skiers an introduction to racing by providing them with the ‘FUNdamentals’ of skiing as defined in the Alpine Canada (ACA) Long Term Skier Development (LTSD) Plan – Phases of Skier Essentials. The program is intended to foster the development of young athletes using the Alpine Canada (ACA) Snow Stars Program. Participants should be a graduate of the All-Stars program or an exceptional recreational skier with the ability to ski any hill and ride any lift at Chicopee with confidence.

Program participants must be a Chicopee Member for the 18 / 19 season as per Alpine Ontario (AOA) rules and regulations and must wear a hard eared helmet. Note: U10 athletes must be registered through the AOA online registration system (includes a waiver and a fee) to participate in any AOA events or camps. Registration isn’t mandatory for Chicopee program participation.

Dryland Training: Chicopee Racing Dryland Training will run for 8 Sunday’s starting on September 23rd and will run through to November 18th from 10am – 12 noon, (NOT including Thanksgiving Sunday, October 7th). The dryland training series is an opportunity for racers to interact with other racers and coaches in the program and to help improve their fitness base prior to getting on the snow. We’ll work on developing: Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), agility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility and stamina in relation to the athletes Windows of Trainability. All sessions are outside on the Chicopee property in all weather conditions. Please come dressed in weather appropriate athletic attire and remember a water bottle!

Program Ability Level:

Advanced:
The student is an experienced and competent skier. He/she has received formal instruction, knows and understands the Alpine Responsibility Code and can demonstrate ability at an advanced level.

Note: Programs will start on Saturday, January 5th, 2019, and run for 8 weeks. Program is not subject to HST.
