Meet The Instructors
Diane Bekiroski
Manager, Programming & Services
I have been skiing at Chicopee since the early 70’s and have been involved with the Chicopee Snow School for 28 years. When you write it like that is sounds like a long time but I have enjoyed each and every moment (OK maybe not every moment) but it is great to have a job that involves people having fun. It is the type of job where everyday is different because of different students, different snow conditions or different weather but it is certainly not your average desk job. I have been the Snow School Director for the past 4 years with a Snow School of over 180 instructors and coaches. Prior to the role of Director I was the Assistant Director for 14 winters. I am a Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance (CSIA) Level 3 instructor as well as a CSIA Level 1 Course Conductor (that is certifying new instructors), a Level 1 (CASI) Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor and a Level 1 (CSCF) Canadian Ski Coaches Federation certified. It is the type of job where I learn something (hopefully along with my students learning something too) each and every time I go out on the slopes. It was initially a job when I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in kinesiology until I figured out what I wanted to do and I have never left.
The continued growth at Chicopee has taken me off the slopes more often than I would like and I am going to make a more concerted effort to get out on the slopes. This not only gives me the opportunity to see how the lessons are going but also to meet some of the guests & members that are on the slopes.
