We're in the middle of our summer camps and programs but that hasn't stopped us from getting you all the information you need to plan your winter around Chicopee's new and exciting programming for the 2010 / 2011 Winter Season!
New Policies:
Helmet Policy Change
New for the 2010 - 2011 season, all lesson & program participants under the age of 18 will be required to wear a helmet. The Chicopee rental shop has an adequate supply of helmets for rent. Helmets remain mandatory for all terrain park and race programs. Chicopee continues to highly recommend helmets for our 18+ participants.
Dogs on the Property
All dogs must be attached to a leash while on the property at all times. This is to ensure the safety of the dog and all our guests.

New way to make a difference at Chicopee:
Want to stay involved? Want to get more out of your time at Chicopee? Chicopee is looking for participants aged 10 – 18 who want to help take Chicopee into the future. Participants will be invited to monthly meetings at the hill where they will help shape snow seasons of the future. In return for sharing your thoughts, you will receive special Y.A.C privileges, VIP access to specific events, and other great perks. This is also a great way for high school students to receive their volunteer hours! Stay involved; help to keep Chicopee a great place to be! In a effort to provide the safest environment possible for our members & guests all participants in lessons or programs that are under the age of 18 will be required to wear a helmet. Bring your own or visit our rental shop. Chicopee will continue to highly recommend the use of a helmet for those 18 & over.

Chicopee Goes Mobile & Summer Starts Early

First, we are proud to announce that Chicopee now has a mobile website! Just follow this link and add the page to your mobile bookmarks. For iPhone users, you can easily add the mobile website to your home screen by clicking the “plus sign” and “adding to home screen” - a Chicopee Icon will be added to your home screen. This mobile website will offer you quick up-to-date information about summer activities, lift and trail reports and weather. You can also view our webcam and contact us as well! Secondly, due to the awesome weather we’ve been having, we will be opening our facility this Saturday to the public. Some activities may not be running (climbing), but be sure to check out our Summer Activity Report to see which activities are running!
Chicopee Receives Community Grant from the City of Kitchener

Chicopee would like to thank the City of Kitchener for a $3,250 community grant that will be used towards purchasing five (5) new bicycles for our bike programs. As a non-profit organization, community grants help create a sustainable future at Chicopee and ensures that all activities will be enjoyed by visitors for years to come. Thank you.

Chicopee & The Harmonized Sales TaxBy now you’ve read or heard a lot about the new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) that is coming into effect July 1st 2010. The HST is basically a combination of the current GST (Goods & Services Tax @ 5%) & PST (Provincial Sales Tax @ 8%) taxes that are collected. Ontario consumers will have to start paying eight percent tax on a wide spectrum of services that they have not had to pay tax on before. Goods & services that concern you & Chicopee such as memberships, adult lesson programs, lift tickets, etc will now be included.
